Trying to live forever - Dee’s good, but she’s not God!

How do I future proof? Tell me, quick!

  1. Lower inflammation. Get Spice(y) and cut veg oil and sugar

As you know, Davinia’s a can-do gal! She’s done the research for our future and brings the tribe, old guard and newbies alike, no-nonsense, practical ways to live it up now so we can live it up later. 

In true Dee style, she makes clear longevity isn’t to be left to chance.  Neither is longevity about being able to just claim a long lifespan - dying old, but having suffered 23 years of ill health sucks.

Stay fit for it in the years in between

Ask your gym instructor for functional strength movements to practise.  Do the practice. It’s not a list of movements just to give your fridge magnets something to hold!


Eating well

Plenty keto and careful carbs. Around these parts, we’re protein focussed.

Reducing stress

Learning what stresses the human body beyond working with Amanda from Accounts is key to learning how you can work with cortisol for your benefit and how to calm your body when you need.

  • Stir 10-15g of collagen through a drink at bedtime, optimise by stirring it through chamomile tea.  Opt for plastic free tea bags, if poss. 
  • When the stress hits, try a physiological sigh: Dee explains in FUTUREPROOF, ‘Breathe in quickly through your mouth or nose twice – the first one up to three quarters of your lung capacity, the second one up to full capacity, then breathe out slowly. And repeat.’

Mobility

Bodies love movement.  Movement underpins the optimum functioning of vital systems like the digestive and musculoskeletal system.  

  • Dee advocates for walk the verse, run the chorus
  • Can you squat? Practise it now and everyday
  • Can you balance on one leg? If that’s easy, can you do it with your eyes closed?
  • Skip as if your inner child depends on it (because your older self will depend on it)

Feeling high on life.  Keeping high on life. 

Aim for a realistic, nervous-system-loving attitude to life. Step away from berating yourself as if your personality is somehow flawed when you’re in a low mood. Consider there may be biological reasons for feeling the way you feel.  

Stack habits - one by one, day but day, week by week. Let the weeks turn into years.  Smashing it the WillPowders Way!
