Clean Sun cream

Non-nano zinc oxide is the primary ingredient providing UV protection in this homemade sun cream.- Zinc oxide is a physical sunscreen that works by sitting on top of the skin and reflecting or scattering UV rays.- Non-nano zinc oxide particles are larger and do not penetrate the skin. The effectiveness of this homemade sun cream in providing UV protection will depend on the concentration of zinc oxide used. This homemade recipe provides between SPF 20-30.
With the added benefits of MCT Oil which is easily absorbed by the skin, making it an excellent moisturiser for both the face and body.- Its lightweight texture helps to hydrate the skin without leaving a greasy residue, making it suitable for all skin types, including oily and acne-prone skin.
Method
Step 1
In a double boiler or a heat-safe bowl placed over a pot of simmering water, melt the shea butter or cocoa butter.
Step 2
Once melted, stir in the MCT oil until well combined.
Step 3
Gradually add the non-nano zinc oxide, stirring continuously to ensure even distribution and to avoid clumps. Do not breathe in the zinc oxide.
Step 4
Once all ingredients are thoroughly mixed, remove from heat and let cool slightly.5. Carefully transfer the mixture to a clean, airtight container, such as a glass jar or tin.
Step 5
Allow the sun cream to cool completely and solidify before use.
Ingredients
- 60ml of MCT Oil
- 60ml of Shea Butter or Cocoa Butter
- 2 tbsp of Non-Nano Zinc Oxide (for UV protection)
- Optional: Essential Oils for fragrance (avoid citrus oils as they can increase sun sensitivity)
